2/24/06 Sixth Weigh-in
1st Place- Stacy/lost 2lbs. this week/18.2 lbs total/5.43% lost!
2nd Place- Erik/lost 1.8lbs this week/15.2lbs total/4.63% lost!
3rd Place- Melanie/lost 1.3lbs this week/8.9lbs total/3.39% lost!
4th Place- Karen/+5.8lbs this week/1.8lbs total/.63% lost!
Personally, this was a tough week for me. Even though I did my exercises, I dreaded them. That's normally not the case because I've been enjoying my exercises here lately. I think it has to do with the weather. It's been way too cold to take Gavin out walking so I've just been stuck doing video tapes this week. In the past, this is probably when I would have given up my exercise routine. I would have stopped exercising..and then felt so guilty about it that I would endulge in all the fattiest foods I could find. But I'm not going to do that this time. Even though it was a tough week, I was able to lose 2lbs. So my body knows that something different is going on...and I'm actually feeling stronger and having a lot more energy. In other words, we're all going to have those times where we're wanting to give up...where we think what's the use. But you will get over it..you WILL get over it. I give big props to everyone who's losing weight and adapting a healthier lifestyle. And for those you are just starting out, or have just given up...you CAN do this...DON'T GIVE UP!!!

Nothin' much to report.
I'm having a blah day today. I don't know if it's the weather or what..but I just can't get into a good mood. I hate days like these. On a plus note I'm excited because I'm still losing weight. I'll post the update on Friday. Other than that I don't have much to say...(you probably can tell by my babbling.) I hope that everyone is having a good week at least. Everyone say a little prayer that Dina and Katy have a safe trip to Florida. Ok, bye!
p.s. If you haven't checked out Alanis Morrissette's Jagged Little Pill acoustic version...it's AWESOME. Erik got it for me for Valentine's day and I can't quit listening to it...brings back some major high school memories.

Happy Valentine's Day Everybody!
I hope everyone is having a good Valentine's Day so far. Mine has started out great. Erik and I gave Gavin some toys this morning and he's spent the whole morning pushing his lawn mower everywhere he went. Unfortunately Erik will not be getting off work early today :( So we'll be spending Valentine's Day at 10:30p.m. tonite. I guess I'm just being selfish because I want to spend this day with him...but I know that he's out there earning much needed money..so I will try to get over this rather quickly. In other news, if any one is wondering why I haven't posted the fifth weigh-in results here is the reason why. My mom, Melanie, Karen and I decided that we need to do weigh-ins on Friday morning from now on. I know this sounds bad....but the weekends are the worse for us..and we just can't bring ourselves to weigh-in on Monday mornings anymore.
Anyways, Karen is having to go to court and see Jason on Thursday for child support and visitation. She's EXTREMLY nervous about it..so everyone say a little prayer that everything goes the way she needs it to go.
Also, cross your fingers for Teresa...she's wanting to buy her first new home and she's hoping that everything goes through well. Good Luck Teresa!
Read here on Friday for the Biggest Loser results!!!

The First Month Is Finally Over!!
Hey everybody. The first month of our Biggest Loser contest is over! Woo hoo! And guess who's in the lead! Me! I'm not meaning to gloat or anything..but I've kicked some ass this month! Ok, but on a serious note though....it's been tough. Actually I think it has gotten easier now...but the first two weeks were excruciating. I can see that now it's starting to form into more of a life-style change..and I'm starting to really feel the results. I've been mixing up work-outs so that I won't get bored. I do The Biggest Loser DVD, a stair stepping DVD, or I go to the walking trails with Gavin in the stroller and walk a mile. The key to my success is that I don't deprive myself of anything. If I want something I'll eat it..but if it's possible to find a healthier version...I'll pick that one over the fatty version. I also have been watching my portion sizes and I haven't been getting up for seconds either. All in all I feel great! I owe it all to my great support team, the members of this contest and my friends. I love you guys!
2/6/06 Fourth Weigh-in
1st Place-Stacy/lost 2.2lbs. this week/15lbs total/4.47% lost!
2nd Place-Erik/lost .4lbs this week/12.8lbs total/3.90% lost!

4th Place-Karen/+2lbs this week/4.4lbs total/1.54%
5th Place- My mom forgot to weigh-in this morning, so I will update this tomorrow morning.
I hope everyone is ready to kick it into high gear this month! A lot can happen in one month....

Chuck E. Cheese and 3rd Weigh-In
Hey everyone!
Hope everybody had a good weekend. I had a pretty good weekend. We took Gavin to Chuck E. Cheese for the very first time and he had a blast! I just can't believe how much he has grown up. I was expecting him to burst into tears when Chuck E. Cheese came up to see him...but he didn't! He was smiling ear to ear and he even gave Chuck E. high-fives! We all had a great time, and I'm so glad Dina and Katy where able to join us. She was just sooooo cute riding on the Teletubby ride! I was really please to see that they had a toddler section marked off. It was perfect for Katy and Gavin. They had the perfect rides and games just for their age. Needless to say it was a great evening. I hope next time Teresa and Gabby can join us!
So today was our 3rd weigh-in, and like so many times we've all tried to lose weight we encounter some flubs here and there. Some of us have had some highs this week..and some of us have had some lows. I just want to say to my team that we're dealing with a lifestyle change and it's very very hard sometimes. Don't give up!
1/30/06 Weigh-in
1st Place-Stacy/lost 1.4lbs this week/12.8lbs total/3.82% lost!
2nd Place-Erik/lost .4lbs this week/12.4lbs total/3.78% lost!
3rd Place-Melanie/lost .8lbs this week/7.9lbs total/3% lost!
4th Place-Karen/gained 3.2lbs this week/6.4lbs lost total/2.24% lost!
5th Place-Mom/gained 4.2lbs this week/.6lbs lost total/.18% lost!
I am VERY excited that I am 1st place this week! I worked hard, made a couple of mistakes..but didn't let it bring me down. Congratulations on those of you who lost this week, and for those who didn't...keep trying..don't let it bring you down!!

Brown rice.
Did you know that brown rice has 50 less calories than regular white rice? And loads more fiber! So my mom went to the store last week and brought home a bag of brown rice. I was very skeptical to say the least. I remember when I was a kid trying it and hating it...so I wasn't sure if I was going to have the same feelings. Anyways, I followed the package directions and it does take a significantly longer time to cook than white rice. The meal for that night was honey glazed salmon fillets upon a bed of brown rice with a side of boiled veggies. To sum it up in one word....DELICIOUS! I am now a brown rice fan and I am recommending it to all of you new dieters. My dad actually said he liked the brown rice better than the white rice! I couldn't believe my ears!
Erik and I have joined the Discovery Health Channel Body Challenge. They have loads of great information and you can keep up with your weight loss journey by tracking your progress daily. You can also make out your own meal plan and exercise schedule. Check it out! http://health.discovery.com/convergence/bodychallenge2006/bodychallenge2006.html?clik=netmain_feat1
I am very excited that some of my friends are jumping on the "healthier lifestyle" band wagon!! I wish everyone luck and a healthier you!

The most exhausting weekend ever.
Where do I begin? I'm so tired I can't even think straight. To sum it up in a few words Gavin and I have been extremly ill for the past three days. Poor Gavin, he couldn't keep nothing down..not even ice chips...he finally had to go to his doctor where they said he had a upper respitory infection....but wouldn't a virus keep him from keeping anything down? *shrugs* I actually caught what he had and Erik had to spend a day and a half taking care of us. But on a lighter note we were much better yesterday and even better today. But my body is still achy and tired from being sick. Erik could barely get out of bed today because he's exhausted as well. I hope this week starts to look up for us.
The second week results of our contest turned out great...we're all super excited by our results.
1/23/06 Second Weigh-in
1st Place-Erik/lost 4.8lbs this week/12lbs total/3.66% lost!

The Biggest Loser (family version)
My family and I have decided that we all need to lose weight. So Melanie and I concocted (sp?) our own little version of The Biggest Loser in and out of waiting for our turn to bowl. Yeah Melanie, Jon, and Erik and I went bowling last weekend..we had a lot of fun even though we got the most jacked up lane and had to have assistance from some incompentant guy who worked there. Anyways, if you have ever seen The Biggest Loser on t.v. you know what I'm talking about. But if you haven't...here's how our family version goes. The contestants (Me, Melanie, Erik, Karen, and my mom) try to lose as much weight as possible. We weigh-in weekly and our weight loss will be configured to most percent lost. Anyways, it's a five month contest where we have to pay $30 dollars at the beginning of each month. The person who loses the most weight will get $550 and the second place winner will recieve $200. So far we have all stayed on track and it's already getting competitive! Our first weigh-in will be Monday morning where I will announce who's in first place, second place and so on. So this blog will kinda be my blog and weight blog.
I also want to say Congratulations to Manda and Joe's engagement. I am soooo thrilled for you guys I can't even tell you!
And Billie I finally finished your purse!! We will be sending it shortly with some other things and some pics.
And everyone please say a little prayer for Jon's dad. He had back surgery and he's having some complications right now. Apparently there was a mishap and now his dad does not have any feeling in his legs or feet whatsoever. Jon will be going back to Louisiana tonite to help his family with arrangements for a ramp to be added onto his house and just to be there for support. Please pray for them during this time.
I'll update soon. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Depressed and Frustrated
*Sigh* I am so depressed and frustrated right now. This is the thing, right now it's time to register for Spring '06 classes. I've been working hard figuring out what classes I still need for my major..and exactly what classes I was going to take this semester. Well I finally figured out what I was going to take and I had the car all day yesterday to go to the college and register. Well the depressing and frustrating part of all of this is that I cannot find my driver's license. At first I thought it was no big deal, but then I decided to call the school to ask them what else I could bring instead of my driver's license and the girl was like "any photo I.D. like a school I.D. or a passport." And I'm like I don't have any of those things. At least the girl was real nice that I talked too. But where in the hell is my driver's license. I NEVER misplace it and the one time that I need it IT'S MISSING!!! I have until the 17th to register for these classes, but the thing is that they're both internet classes and we all know how fast those get taken up. *Sigh* I have looked everywhere for this stupid I.D. where in the heck could it be???????????????!!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hey guys!
Just wanted to say that I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas. It was a great one this year for me and my fam. We all made out like bandits and my mom made the most delicious dinner ever. It was just really nice to spend time with my family and friends. I got the most beautiful necklace from Erik...it's a heart pendant with Gavin's picture engraved on it...it's sooo neat how they did it. And I also got a bike which I'm really excited about...Simon and I have already been around the neighborhood a couple of times and I'm ready to hit the bike trails over here by my house. Gavin got a motorized Jeep Wrangler from Grandma and Pappy, a Dirt Devil vaccum cleaner from Erik and I, a Radio Flyer red tricycle from Santa, a ball pit from Aunt Melanie and Uncle Jon, and a Sit 'n Spin from Aunt Karen. Not to mention a whole lot of other stuff that's too long to list. My mom really liked the bible Erik and I gave her with her name engraved on it. Melanie and Jon loved the photo album Erik and I put together of some pictures we had of them. My dad loved his Little Richard cd and Karen was so excited to finally get the new Mariah Carey cd (even though Erik wrapped it about 20 times to be an ass..it was sooo funny watching her unravel all the ribbon and scotch tape.) All in all it was a great Christmas......can't wait 'til New Years!!

House full of sickness.
There has been an overwhelming cloud of sickness floating over my house these past couple of days. Not only have I been sick but my mom, Erik, and Gavin have been sick as well. Needless to say, we've all been close to pulling one another's hair out (except Gavin.) We're all cranky, irritable, soup eaters right now..and it sucks. Please God let us all be better by Saturday! So on that note, I'm really excited about the Christmas party we're having on Saturday. Mostly I'm anxious to see everyone together and to see what everyone's been up too. Is it me, or had this holiday season zoomed by? I've barely started my Christmas shopping, and I had all these holiday plans for Erik, Gavin and I to do..but it just seems like we're running out of time. The Christmas clock needs to slow down so I can enjoy the time spent with my family and friends..and not have to worry so much about shopping.

First bad haircut.
So my mom and I took Gavin to get his haircut yesterday. And yes people, mark the date...it was his first BAD haircut. I told the lady that I wanted it to be short and spikey, with some length on the top to put gel in it to spike it. And before I knew it, it was COMPLETLY cut off...she might as well had shaved it. I mean his hair will grow out and everything..but come on now. On a happier note, he barely cried...she gave him a sucker and that did the trick..oh and my mom was getting her haircut right across from him and she was making silly faces so that helped too. I will admit that I'm a little sad that his curls were cut off...but that's his natural hair type so it will grow back.
In other news, I'm really enjoying the church my family and I are going too. Gavin has yet to get adjusted to the daycare...but hopefully there will be more playing and less crying in the future. Also, we got two angels off the angel tree at church..so we shopped for them yesterday and they should be getting their gifts on Saturday. It's a great christmas program that we're doing because the angels on the tree are prison inmate's kids who are living with their grandparents. I would just like to say that if you can..please go to your local church or mall and pick up an angel. There are so many less fortunate children out there who will not be having a Christmas this year. Think of how much joy a $10 gift will bring them on Christmas Day :) .
Ok, well I'm off to do Christmas cards. I hope everyone is having a great Monday so far!

*sings* Leaving on a jet plane..don't know when I'll be back again...
Ok,
So I'm not leaving on a jet plane, and I do know when I'm coming back. BUT I do need some help planning a trip to Kentucky. That's right! Erik, Gavin, and I will be venturing to the big K for the Thanksgiving holiday. I am really excited to be seeing Erik's fam and just to get away! So considering this is my first time to be on a big trip with my family..I welcome any advice you can give me. We will be leaving Wednesday morning and coming back on Sunday. As of right now Billie (Erik's sister) says that it's chilly over there. So I will be packing warm clothes. Do any of you have any good ideas on what to bring to a long trip like that? I know you might have some ideas Dina considering you're always traveling to see your fam. Do you have any life saving advice in regards to Gavin and the twelve hour ride? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
As for now, I'm starting to pack and check off the little list Erik and I have made.
I hope everyone has a great Turkey Day!

Christmas songs already!!?????????!!!???
I cannot believe my ears. I'm listening to Christmas music flowing through the rooms of my house today. What the %@#$? I don't know about you guys, but I think this is ridiculous! They pulled this crap last year and I swear that Thanksgiving felt like Christmas all day. What are they trying to do to me??? Whatever happened to playing them the weekend after Thanksgiving? No wonder everyone is ready to pull each other heads off by Christmas Eve..because we've had been bombarded by Christmas songs wayyyyyyyyyy too early!
As of right now, I am banning the listening of Christmas songs until Nov. 26th. Who's with me!?

I HATE MY BROTHER!!
I am soooooo f**kin tired of my brother living here!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I could scream it for all the world to hear. How is it that my own brother can bring the worst out of me? He thinks he owns everything, and he has no respect for NOTHING. He is literally putting every one of us in a depression. Before Joe got here..we understood how thankful we needed to be that we had such great parents to open their home out to us. Joe does not see that, he sees like they owe him something..uggghhhhh. I just wish he could understand how miserable he's making all of us.
Please God help us!

Officially Exhausted
Ok,
So today is the official "taking care of Kenzie while her mommy works" day. I did, however, take care of her half a day yesterday..I guess like a trial run or something. And it was just awful. Don't get me wrong..I love Kenzie very much..but she was going through this "I am going to puke up everything and not sleep at all" day. I was so exhausted when Karen came home that I upped my daycare charges to a $100 more...(I doubt she took me seriously though.)
Today is going much better. She took her bottle like a good girl (didn't spit up at all.) And she has been sleeping ever since. I'm worried about taking care of her and Gavin at the same time now. It has really made me think about what it would be like to have another baby. And I know..I'm officially not ready. Maybe in two to three years..lol.
On another note, I want to thank you all who came to Melanie's birthday party. It went off without a hitch. And she said she had the BEST time ever. Wasn't the Karaoke fun? Oh my God, I have some awfully incriminating photos here..he he he. Here are a list of some costumes that had me at "hello" :P
1. Melanie-punk rocker. This girl had a 6 inch mohawk. It was awesome!
2. Jon- it was this "got cut while shaving" costume. But it was sooooo scary. He had blood all over, he looked like a satan worshiper if you ask me.
3. Dina- bar maid. I think a few of you have seen this one. But it just gets cuter and cuter. I wish I had the bod to wear it!
4. Erik- OHHHH my gosh! He was hilarious. He had put cotton all over his shirt. So everyone was like "What are you?" And he's like "I'm partly cloudy with a chance of rain." And he would spray you with a spray bottle. It was too cute.
5. Gavin- Awwwww. My little devil. It was funny..because I would take him around and I would be like "Look at my little angel." And then everyone would be like "You mean devil." And then I would be like.."Yeah, that too!"
6. Corry- My cousin had the funniest looking Afro. Get this a 6ft. tall white boy with an afro..it had me in tears.
7. Karen- she was a cute little bunny. Who I might add..was able to take back her bunny ears and tail and get her $18 back. Devious I tell you.
8. Star- another devil in the house! She looked soooo cute!
9. Dylan- Darth vader. Need I say more?
1
0. Brandon- Dennis the Menace. He had the cutest little alfafa, and overalls and a boomarang! He really was workin' the part.
11. Stacy- Last but not least! I was a Diva Witch. Had my wig goin' and my feather boa pants. I had to say..I was workin' it as well.
I hope I'm not forgetting anybody who wore a costume. There were a whole bunch of other people who came over costumeless..and we still love you! Thanks for making Melanie's birthday soooo special!
